Costa Rica 09-10 Coffee Sales Dn 2.1% To Aug 14 To 407,790 Bags (INO News)

Costa Rica's coffee industry has logged in contracts for 407,790 (60-kilogram) bags of coffee from the upcoming 2009-10 crop in forward sales through Aug. 14, the official Costa Rican Institute, or Icafe, said in a report Monday.

BEAUMONT, TEXAS — A salmonella scare is prompting a Beaumont-based coffee and spice packager into a red pepper recall. The Texas Coffee Co. is recalling 3- and 8-ounce packages of Texjoy red pepper because of potential contamination by salmonella bacteria.
